home based quilter

After 40 yrs. of marriage, we were able to relocate to be near my mother. She had spent a lot of time quilting that I knew very little about. Unfortunately, she passed away a few years after we moved there. I became the keeper of her "stash", and it was the beginning of my journey into quilting. We soon moved to our current home, and in unpacking, I found lots of blocks, which I assumed Mom had been making, so I took them to the local Quilt Shop, and asked for suggestions on what to do with them. Thus, my quilting years started. When I'm sewing & quilting, I feel so very close to my mother, and nothing I do comes even close to the feeling that she is right there with me.
I absolutely love quilting, and have struggled with completing quilts on my domestic machine. I fell in love with the Cutie when I first learned about it, but it has been just a dream until recently. The huge discount on it this month has resulted in my husband telling me to go ahead and order one, for my Birthday, our 52nd Anniversary & Christmas! Yea!!! Now I can actually move forward on completing the Tops/Flimsies I have stacked up to do!
