New Grace 19SD - Made for Push Quilters

A Longarm Made for Push Quilters: Introducing the Grace 19SD

If you've been push quilting on your home machine and dreaming of an upgrade, this one's for you. Grace Company has officially stepped into push quilting, and we are so excited to introduce the Grace 19SD Quilting Longarm. Consider this your complete breakdown of everything you need to know about the Grace 19SD, from the features that make your day-to-day quilting so much smoother.

If you've ever wrestled a bulky quilt through the tiny throat of a standard home machine, you already know the struggle. The 19SD was designed to solve exactly that. Let's get into it.

The First Thing You'll Notice:Space

The immediate difference when you sit down at this machine? Room.

The Grace 19SD features 19 inches of throat space, and if you’ve been pushing quilts through a domestic machine, the difference is night and day. The larger workspace gives your fabric room to move naturally, providing greater control and smoother movement as you guide your quilt through each design. With a throat height of 9.8", you’ll also have extra clearance to comfortably shift and manage bulky quilts. More space truly means better fabric management and a more enjoyable quilting experience.

And here's a handy tip: you can use mini quilt clips along the edges of your quilt to help keep things tidy and reduce drag across the table. It's one of those small moves that makes a big difference once you're in the zone.

A Table That Works for Your Space

The 19SD comes with an ergonomic table designed to complement the machine itself. When working on larger quilts, you can fully extend the table leaves for maximum surface area, or fold them down for a more compact setup when space is limited. Fully extended, the table measures 77.5" in length, and when the leaves are folded down, it measures 34.5".

A Touchscreen That Keeps Up With You

The 19SD comes with a 7.5" full color touchscreen that puts everything you need right at your fingertips.

From the tablet you can customize your needle stop, overspeed sound, click sound, needle area brightness, and screen brightness. You can also control your machine directly from the screen like start/stop, jog forward, jog backward, single stitch, and needle up/down position are all accessible without touching the machine itself.

There's also a built-in Help section that covers preparing to quilt, machine maintenance, and common troubleshooting, so if you hit a snag mid-project, answers are never far away. And if you can't find what you need there, you can always give us a call at (801) 485-6688.

Three Quilting Modes — Pick What Fits Your Style

One of the standout features that sets the Grace 19SD apart from other sit-down longarm quilting machines is its customizable stitch regulation system. The machine offers three different quilting modes, allowing you to choose the level of control and quilting precision that best fits your quilting style. You can also easily adjust your stitch regulation settings directly from the touchscreen display, making it simple to fine-tune your quilting without interrupting your workflow.

Precise Mode lets you set your preferred stitches per inch, while the dual optical encoder stitch regulator automatically adjusts the machine’s speed to match your fabric movement. This helps maintain consistent stitch length during free-motion quilting, even if your quilting speed changes. It’s an excellent option for quilters who want smooth, accurate stitches with less manual adjustment.

Cruise Mode combines stitch regulation with a constant minimum speed for added control and fluid movement. You can set both your stitch length and motor speed directly from the screen, while the optical encoders continuously monitor movement for improved stitch consistency. When you pause with your foot pedal engaged, the needle continues to jog in place, helping prevent flat spots and creating smoother quilting transitions. This mode is ideal for quilters who want the benefits of stitch regulation while maintaining a natural quilting rhythm.

Manual Mode gives you complete control over your quilting speed for a more traditional push quilting experience. Adjust your speed using either the machine controls or the foot pedal, and even set a maximum speed limit for greater comfort and confidence. For experienced quilters who prefer hands-on control and custom quilting movement.

More Bobbin, More Thread, Less Stopping

One of the quieter but very welcome upgrades: the Grace 19SD uses M-class bobbins, which hold significantly more thread than standard bobbins. That means fewer interruptions to your quilting flow and more time actually quilting. If you've ever been on a roll with a design and had to stop for a bobbin change, you know exactly why this matters.

Speaking of bobbins, the touchscreen Toolbox includes a bobbin estimator that notifies you when you're getting close to running out. No more surprise mid-design bobbin changes.

The Toolbox: Little Extras That Add Up

Under the Toolbox section of your touchscreen, you'll find a handful of extras that are genuinely handy and honestly kind of fun:

  • Built-in calculator for any quick math you need mid-project.
  • Project tracking so you can see how long you've been working on a project.
  • Lifetime tracking that lets you know when it's time to clean and oil the machine, so maintenance never sneaks up on you right before a big project.

Little Details That Go a Long Way

A few more things worth mentioning that push quilters will really appreciate:

  • Threading help guides are printed right on the side of the machine. It's a small thing that saves real time, especially when you're learning a new machine or quilting late at night.
  • The high-powered motor can tackle tough or thick fabrics without breaking a sweat, so you don't have to slow down when the layers pile up.
  • Lighting in the needle, throat, and bobbin area means you can always see exactly what you're doing.

So, What Actually Makes This Different from Quilting at Home?

Great question, and one worth answering directly.

The moment you sit down at the 19SD, the difference is obvious, and it's not just the size of the machine. Everything about it is designed with the push quilter in mind: the larger throat, the spacious ergonomic table, the stitch regulator modes, the M-class bobbins, the smart touchscreen. The 19SD was built specifically for bigger and bulkier fabric, and long quilting sessions.

If you've been making it work on a domestic machine and wondering if there's something better suited to how you quilt, there is. And it's the Grace 19SD.
